SpiritED Bloom’s Philosophy
Our approach integrates neuroscience, education, and understanding of cognitive functioning as well as mindfulness and holistic methods. Starting first with supporting self-regulation, which is the basis of executive functioning, then connecting the why and how the brain does what it does to help move forward with lifelong success and managing challenges when reaching goals. We focus on a deeper understanding of self and how to work with a neurodiverse brain to reach your fullest potential. Whether we are supporting parents to improve family dynamics, guiding adults toward self-acceptance and productivity, or equipping educators with effective strategies, we center around on helping people understand their brains, reduce overwhelm, and harness their strengths to reach their goals with confidence.
About the Founder
Alicia Kohls, M. Ed., PCAC, has always been spirited - more sensitive and in tune with her emotions than others. She is a mom with ADHD, raising 2 beautifully spirited children. Her personal journey starts with challenges of managing her big emotions, dealing with sensitivity barriers, and recovering from perfectionism as a way to unknowingly cope with ADHD. After a late diagnosis and realizing she had ADHD her whole life, clarity started to come to light on why executive function skills such as finishing tasks, organizing thoughts, and working memory were such a challenge. Through her life she has found holistic methods and lifestyle changes to positively manage her ADHD symptoms and create inner peace with her neurodivergent brain. In her professional journey, with over a decade of experience as Professional Certified ADHD Coach, consultant, and educator, Alicia specializes in supporting neurodivergent individuals through strengths-based, research-informed strategies. She draws on her expertise in brain development, executive functioning, effective learning modalities, and wellness to empower parents, adults, and educators to better understand and support individuals with ADHD traits. She is passionate about supporting other spirited beings to help breakthrough the challenges, create deep understanding, and thrive with empowerment.
